Ionospheric irregularities during disturbed geomagnetic conditions over Argentinian EIA region

چکیده
Ionospheric irregularities can severely degrade radio communication and navigation systems. Geomagnetic storms may affect the generation of these in a way that is not yet fully understood. To improve forecasting this phenomenon, we need to study ionosphere different regions world, particular equatorial ionization anomaly (EIA) where are usually more intense. This analyses effect geomagnetic on ionospheric irregularities. We examined occurrence at southern crest EIA Argentina (Tucumán, 26.9°S, 294.6°E, dip latitude 15.5°S) during three intense one moderate storm solar sources, between 2015 2018. used data from an ionosonde, Global Positioning System receiver magnetometers. Ionogram spread-F, F-layer bottom side (h'F), critical frequency F2-layer (foF2), rate TEC index S4 scintillation were analysed. Ionospheric redistribution during geomagnetic storms
[1]The abundance of plasma in the daytime ionosphere is often seen to grow greatly during geomagnetic storms. Recent reports suggest that the magnitude of the plasma density enhancement depends on the UT of storm onset. This possibility is investigated over a 7year period using global maps of ionospheric total electron content (TEC) produced at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. The analysis confir...
متن کاملThe climatology of ionospheric plasma bubbles and irregularities over Brazil
In this paper, we examine ionospheric plasma depletions (or bubbles) and irregularities observed by photometers and a ground-based receiver of the global positioning system (GPS) both located in Brazil, South America. A simultaneous observation reveals that when the ionospheric plasma becomes depleted, the GPS total electron content decreases and the associated phase fluctuations grow. Statisti...

The Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) will provide real-time differential GPS corrections and integrity information for aircraft navigation use. The most stringent application of this system will be precision approach, where the system guides the aircraft to within a few hundred feet of the ground. Precision approach operations require the use of differential ionospheric corrections. WAAS mu...
متن کاملInvestigation of the effects of geomagnetic storms on ionospheric irregularities using the combination of ground-based GNSS and SWARM satellites
Geomagnetic storms are one of the main causes of ionospheric perturbations in different sizes, depending on their intensity, which could disturb radio signals passing through this medium. On September 6-12, 2017, the sudden storm commencement (SSC) was the most massive geomagnetic storm of the year due to the X9 solar flare caused by a coronal mass ejection (CME). IMF-Bz and Dst values increase...
متن کاملA short-term ionospheric forecasting empirical regional model (IFERM) to predict the critical frequency of the F2 layer during moderate, disturbed, and very disturbed geomagnetic conditions over the European area
A short-term ionospheric forecasting empirical regional model (IFERM) has been developed to predict the state of the critical frequency of the F2 layer (foF2) under different geomagnetic conditions. IFERM is based on 13 short term ionospheric forecasting empirical local models (IFELM) developed to predict foF2 at 13 ionospheric observatories scattered around the European area. The forecasting p...
